Prowess International School Okpanam, Saturday 12th March, 2022, held her first ever Inter-House Sports competition at the St. Mulumba’s School’s sporting arena, Okpanam, Delta State.
The competition which was prepared for several weeks before the D-Day brought out the creative resilience and endurance in both the teachers and pupils of the school, which manifestly showed in the success of the sporting competition.
The school Director, Mrs. Chinwe Dike who had maintained a high profile all along was elated that the maiden edition of the school’s Inter-House Sports was indeed a huge success.
She commended her hardworking teachers and coaches for their dexterity in seeing to the proper accomplishment of the Sports programme.
She also commended the pupils without whom the event couldn’t have been a reality.
Dike said that education being the bedrock for positive national development, must inculcate sound sporting activities as part of the process for child development.
The amiable education administrator said, such programmes as Inter-House Sports must continue to form part of the school’s curriculum activities for academic development and excellence; positing that it is the school’s policy to ensure that parents receive value for their academic investments in their wards and that the school’s end products enhance national growth and development.
However, the Head-Teacher of Prowess International School, Mrs. Elizabeth Agboghai appraised the creative energy of the pupils who participated in the competition, appreciating them for representing the focused policy thrust of the school which is ‘All Round Excellence’.
The Inter-House Sports event was chaired by the distinguished Engr. Donald U. Igudia while Mrs. J.N. Sorokwu (CIE Oshimili North) and Hon. Uche Ofuonyeadi (Oshimili North NAPPS Chairman) were present as Chief Host and Guest of Honour respectively.
At the end of the Inter-House Sports competition, Iris House that has the Secretary of Delta State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ), Comrade Patrick Ochei as Patron, emerged the overall winner of the competition.
