The need for one to posses mental and moral qualities distinctive of him or her has been stressed as Sir (Chief) & Lady (Chief) Mrs. E.D.O. Obofukoro, celebrate their 51 years marriage, 86 and 76 years birthday Anniversaries respectively.
Speaking at the well attended and colourful event, leading 2023 governorship aspirant in Delta State, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, revealed that he was endeared to the celebrants due to their tested character as husband and wife.
Gbagi, who was accompanied by his wife, Her Lordship, Chief Mrs. Sybil Gbagi, JAC, seized the opportunity to announced the adoption of the duo as his parents who he described as people of impeccable character.
Gbagi, at the ceremony which brought the crème de la crème together at the College of Education Auditorium, Edjeba, Warri south local government area of the State, maintained that Papa Obofukoro has so much characters like his biological late father, Pa. Robinson Ajerighaye.
The largest private industrialist who went memory lane said the vacuum created by the demise of his biological father, was filled with the discovering of Papa Obofukoro, whom he said has led with honestly in his political sojourn to government house come 2023.
Gbagi who said that he has come to join the family Chief & Chief Mrs. Obofukoro, added that he has adopted Papa Obofukoro and Mama Obofukoro as his parents.
He pointed out that one could eat and drink by merriment, acquire the entire world, “you are wasting time without character”.
Speaking further, the philanthropist said: “Before then, the Governor called me and said, in your local government, there is one man with character. I bear testimony to you that man has character and who was he referring to, he was referring to Papa Obofukoro.
“I did not wait for such a long time, I went and begged Papa Obofukoro on the knees even though I didn’t not tell him that I am missing my father and he has so much character like my father but I begged him to lead me in my sojourn to government house by 2023.
“So when I lost my father, I thought that was all. And anywhere I went to, I saw the vacuum created by the demise of my father. But when I discovered Pa Obofukoro, the vacuum, the exit of my father posted is equally filled by Papa Obofukoro and his wife.
“I have come to join the family and I have adopted Papa Obofukoro and Mama Obofukoro as my parents”.
Members of Gbagi Solidarity Movement (GSM), Chief & Chief Mrs. Solomon Ala, Elder Ologitere Moore, Dr. Harrison Abedi, Barr. (Dr.) Ben O. Okagbare, Elder Ughiakpoteni and others were equally on the entourage of the prominent 2023 gubernatorial hopeful.
