THE STORY EXCLUSIVE: Obior, Onicha-Uku, Onicha-Olona, Obomkpa, Ezi Yet To Produce Chairman In Aniocha North

Current political analysis rocking the waves indicates that Obior, the home town of a former Deputy Governor, Chief Benjamin Elue, has not produced chairman for Aniocha north local government area of Delta state.

Also, Onicha-Uku, the country home of the member representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu, has not also produced the Chairman of the council.

Findings revealed that in Onicha-Olona, where the current Chairman of the state Waste Management Board hails from, Emma Chinye, has not also produced the Chairman of the local government area.

Also, the town of the Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission, Chief Mrs. Nkem Okwuofu, popularly called Mother of Government (MOG), Obomkpa, has not equally produced the Chairman of the Council.

Similarly, Ezi, the hometown of Charles Ochei, the Chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in the council and Patrick Onoche, the Secretary of the local government Council, is yet to produce Chairman of the number one local government area.

It was learnt that the five communities are of the Ezechime 2, one of the clans that made up Aniocha north local government area of the state.

It was gathered that the communities that made up Ezechime 1, includes Onicha-Ugbo, Issele-Uku, Issele-Azagba and Issele-Mkpitime.

While Idumuje clan consist of
Idumuje-Unor, Idumuje-Ugboko and Aniofu.

Investigation revealed that Odiani Clan includes Ukunzu, Ugbodu, Ugboba, Idumuogo, Ubulubu, Ogodo, Anioma.

Further investigation revealed that Chairmen of the council who have emerged includes Chief Callistu Nwawolo, from Ezechime 1, Mr. Sunday Aniamaka, from Idumuje Clan, Chief Jaunty Okwudi, also from Ezechime 1 and the present Chairman, Mr. Chuks Oseme, from Odiani.

It was learnt that the existing Chairmanship zoning and rotation adopted by the PDP, in the Council is to ensure equity, justice and fairness.

Political analysts in the local government Council argued that the next Chairmanship candidate should be produced by any of the communities in Ezechime 2, that have not been given the opportunity to produce the chairman since the polical dispensation in the council come 2021.

It was learnt that Ezechime has produced a Caretaker Committee Chairman, Young Chukwuedo, who handed over the the current Chairman.

Analysts insisted that the party must peacefully entrench a sustainable political culture that should bequeathed as a worthy legacy to coming generations.

But a source (name withheld), from the council who is aware of how many clans Aniocha north is broken into and the political calculation, distant himself from the four clans.

He noted that Aniocha north has nothing like Ezechime 1 and 2, disclosing that the local government is divided into three clans, Idumuje, Ezechime and Odiani.

Speaking further, he said: “there are no two Ezechime clan in Aniocha north. We have only Ezechime, Idumuje and Odiani Clans.

“But it was of recent that Idumuje started separating themselves from Odiani. So, if you want to go by that you will have Ezechime, Idumuje and Odiani Clans. Idumuje has two communities, Idumuje-Unor and Idumuje-Ugboko”, insisting there is nothing like two Ezechime clans.

Another source hinted that Ezechime 1 and 2 exists due to its size but are regarded as just Ezechime.
