… Says what we have next is to tackle industries
Frontline governorship aspirant under the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, said the incumbent governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has created a conducive atmosphere for industries to boom by constructing network of roads across the state.
The industrialist said this when he declared his intentions to contest 2023 governorship election before the Olorogun Barr. Kingsley Esiso led-PDP executive and State Working Committee (SWC), at the Secretariat in Asaba, recently.
“The governor has done more roads and have empowered youths. My position was that if the government before now had done all the roads when Dr. Okowa, came in, he will not do roads again, he will be doing industries but if he came and started industries without roads to move goods and services about, he would not have done anything as well.
“What we have next is to tackle industries. We need to turn the narratives by first and foremost eradicating all our youths from the street. My first priority like I told you is to eradicate all these youths and give them gainful employment”.
Hear him: “I am not telling you what I intend to do as governor, I am telling you what I have already done in this state as a private entrepreneur.
“The days when you make claims to what you want to do with tax payers money as a basis for you to be voted in as governor is gone.
“We want men and women that, by their own selves and capacity, have created industries, employment have the capacity to reach out to other world and by the mere mention of their name, what Gov. Okowa has done in the state would just be an addition”.
While presenting himself for the task ahead, he noted, “I am there for you to search, I have what it takes. Delta state if I must tell you is rich, the wealth is there but we need an entrepreneurial mind to tap into it and turn it around.
“I am unblemish. Mr. Chairman, I plead with you, the State Delta today, requires a me that you chairman will be proud to say that is your governor, not the one you are hiding to say you don’t know whether they are coming to carry your governor or otherwise.
“You have a duty to make sure that in the six years you have worked with the governor to take the state to this level you come with somebody with a clean hands. Somebody that is not hiding his records, deceiving us to take the state to another level
“I have what it takes and trust me, when it comes to the security of this nation, I have played my role and those benefits, that I have left behind, I will bring it bear to the state”, adding that a number of the SWC knows him by reputation, “by that I mean, I posses the capacity”, the philanthropist declared.
