The Senator representing Delta north senatorial district in the Red Chambers of the National Assembly (NASS), Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, has thrown his weight behind the outright condemnation of a Pan-Anioma group, known as Anioma Union, sponsored by some “Coup Plotters”, who called themselves traditional rulers in Delta north.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator, known for his doggedness said the move was aimed at making the Anioma Congress under the leadership of the Asagba of Asaba, irrelevant and to be tossed here and there by people he described as “political jobbers”
“I read with great interest the statement credited to our revered Asagba of ASABA, Obi (Prof) Chike Edozien, CFR. condemning the attempt by some political jobbers to proliferate groups aimed at whittling down the relevance of highly Successful ANIOMA CONGRESS which has for ages remained the mouthpiece of the entire nation.
“This is to wholeheartedly endorse the position of the Asagba of ASABA condemning any attempt to weaken the mouthpiece of Anioma people by establishing another competing organ.
“As the Senator representing the Anioma nation, I am opposed to the Establishment of any other movement and warn that any attempt to proceed on that tangent for political reasons must be resisted by all well-meaning citizens of the Anioma Kingdom”, Nwaoboshi, stated.
In a statement on Monday February 7th 2022, signed by the Nwaoboshi made available to newsmen in Asaba, he warned that any attempt to proceed on that tangent for political reasons must be resisted by all well-meaning citizens of the Anioma Kingdom.
It would be recall that traditional rulers in Delta North Senatorial District threw their weight behind the formation of a Pan-Anioma group known as Anioma Union, after a meeting held at the palace of the Obi Of Owa, Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor II, in Ika north east local government Area.
The monarchs resolved that the proposed Anioma Union, encompassing the socio-cultural quadrants of Aniocha, Oshimili, Ika and Ndokwa, would advance the development of Delta North.

Under the umbrella of all traditional rulers of DELTA NORTH, the ANIOMA CONGRESS under the leadership of Asagba of ASABA have remained apolitical whilst speaking truth to power and protecting the interest of ANIOMA people generally.
