The traditional ruler of Ukala Kingdom, His Royal Majesty (HRM), Sir. Clement I. Ejiofor, has affirmed that the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, OON, is truly an industrialist to reckon with.
“You have declared yourself a true industrialist and that is what will savage Delta State”.
The monarch reiterated Gbagi’s position to industrialize the state on Friday October 28th 2022, when the Social Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate visited Delta North Traditional Rulers Forum in Asaba, the State capital.
Gbagi, a former minister of State for education, was received by the chairman of the forum, Asagba of Asaba, Obi (Prof.) Chike Edozien and 38 other kings from the region.
The monarch’s assertion confirmed that it would take an entrepreneur in the capacity of Olorogun Gbagi, FNIM, the largest private investor in the state, to reposition the economy when elected governor in 2023.
Earlier in his remarks, Gbagi, informed the revered kings that all he knows about is business and industrialization.
“All I know is business and industry, unless we emancipate our children from the street, catastrophy is inevitable and if ENDARS come again, a lot of us will not have palace to return to.
“I am saying that you traditional rulers in your various kingdoms, look at the persons that are presenting themselves that they want to govern you.
“For any meaningful investment to come to Delta State, the first thing they do, is to google Delta, to know who are the persons in the helm of affairs.
“Unless we do things differently, giving the situation that we are today, where every month we go to the federal government to ask, how much do you have for us?, things will not change.
“The time has come for traditional rulers to take hold of that which is theirs by right.
“I am one of you and I am here to present myself to you, My strength is that I am an industrialist and I have the capacity and connection to industrialize the state” he added.
