Former House of Representatives candidate in the 2019 general elections for Isoko Federal Constituency, Hon. Joel-Onowakpo Thomas Ewowazino, has purchased the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for Delta South Senatorial
District contest.
This indicates his readiness to run for the Senatorial seat next year.
Speaking on his senatorial bid, the Harvard – t r a I n e d business mogul said: “With my political experiences in various positions held at the local, state, and federal government levels, together with corporate experiences, I believe the Delta South Senatorial District is in safe hands with me.
“My representation of the 3-is (Isoko, Ijaw, and Itsekiri) ethnic nationalities, development would be geometrical.
“I was able to increase internally generated revenue (from 1.2 billion to over 5 billion monthly), human capital development, and massive visible infrastructural development across the state in my less than six years appointment.
“My span of experience is huge and shall come in handy. During my time as local government Chairman of Isoko South, I paid contractors that were owed huge money because I believe the strength of the economy is in financially viable citizens.
“As a board member and eventually chairman of Delta State Board of Internal Revenue I sent the staff for regular training both in Nigeria and Abroad.
“More so, as deputy director/State Coordinator Rivers, Edo, and Delta states in the Federal Inland Revenue Service, I did not only position the zonal offices but also increased revenue of the region which affected the total revenue of the Federal Inland Revenue Services.
“As a technocrat, I have built human and material resources from scratch to a very enviable height.
“I will be bringing this rich resume from the combined private and public sector experiences to Delta South senatorial district”, he added.
