Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Patrick Muoboghare, in his congratulatory message to the Edo State governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, took a swipe at the sacked National Chairman of APC, describing his actions as those of a man under a “spell”.
Prof. Muoboghare, while chronicling the dismissed former APC National Chairman’s roles in the build up to the Edo 2020 gubernatorial elections, stated poignantly, that only a man under a “spell” would have set out to fight a performing and a sitting governor he literally installed in office in 2016 under the APC platform, to the extent that his underhand tactics as APC National Chairman frustrated Governor Obaseki to dump the party and pitch tent with the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), under whose umbrella he won convincingly last Saturday’s elections for a second term in office.
Marshalling his points very lucidly, Prof. Muoboghare, a quadruple term Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), DELSU Abraka Chairman, recalled the embattled Oshiomhole’s under hand actions which literally hounded then National APC Chairman, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, out of office, only for him (Oshiomhole) to become Oyegun’s replacement, an action that was unpardonable before the Bini ancestors and gods where Chief Oyegun hails from.
The Delta Higher Education Commissioner further went on to state that when suspended by his Iyamoh Ward Chairman, Oshawo, the proud Oshiomhole, after labeling his ward Chairman all sorts of names ranging from “village champion” to “Ordinary ward Chairman,” refused to appeal the suspension within the window provided by the party constitution until courts affirmed the ward chairman’s actions, stressing, “This is what a spell does” said Prof. Muoboghare.
Another proof of the “spell” under which Oshiomhole, operated, according to Muoboghare, was the sudden volte face to install Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as APC Governorship candidate for the Edo 2020 Guber elections, when in 2016, he had openly labeled Ize Iyamu, the then PDP candidate as a “thief”, “cultist”, “murderer”, “liar”, to mention a few.
Another further proof of the Oshiomhole “spell”, Muoboghare posited, was the elevation of the sacked APC National Chairman as a demi god by his supporters which led him to shut his ears to good advice.
The last straw that broke the camel’s back, Professor Muoboghare concluded, was the constitution of some APC Governor who as campaign council members, to the discerning Edo voter, symbolized corruption, thuggery and “supreme Court Governor” respectively in the persons of Kano’s Ganduje, Kogi’s Yahaya Bello, and Imo’s Hope Uzodinma.
He wondered how such characters could even contemplate matching the quintessential master strategist and Chairman PDP South South Governor’s Forum, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Edo PDP Governorship Council Chairman and Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, who he described as a formidable team of time tested and proven persons.
Muoboghare therefore urged Comrade Oshiomhole to appease the gods of Bini Kingdom for forgiveness, since his actions have desecrated their land.
“I am reiterating he should go for appeasement from the gods, for what he did to a Bini man who was National Chairman of the party.
“And for those who do not believe in the ancestral mode of appeasement, he should approach such crowd pulling televangelists such as Bishop Oyedepo, Papa Adeboye, Pastor Awokoya even Daddy Freeze for spiritual cleansing.
“Here was a man who twice attempted to prevent Gov. Okowa from being Governor, only to be dismantled by the same Okowa in his own land. See what a spell does to a man?, lamented Professor Muoboghare, adding, “After the cleansing, Oshiomhole should go and sin no more”.
