Lending his voice to the victory, a Political Adviser to the Delta state governor, Omimi Esquire, said the efforts of Delta State governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, who is the Chairman, South South Governor’s forum, his Rivers State counterpart and Chairman, PDP Campaign Council for the election, Barr Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and other PDP Governor’s, ensured victory for Governor Godwin Obaseki.
The Political Adviser, congratulated Governor Okowa and the entire PDP family Nationwide on the victory of Governor Godwin Obaseki, who was declared re elected by the independent Electoral Commission (lNEC), on Sunday 20th September 2020.
Describing the victory of the Edo State Governor as “a reclamation of PDP,s territory stolen 12 year,s ago”, the Political Adviser noted that for the first time in a long while, the South South geo political zone could now speak in one voice.
The Delta State Political Adviser used the opportunity to congratulate Governor Obaseki, saying the victory is a victory for not only the people of Edo who believe in right standards, but also for the entire South South region of the country.
He commended Edo people for their steadfastness in making their votes count, assuring them that their choice of Governor Obaseki, is a choice against godfatherism and a vote for accelerated development of Edo State.
He noted that the age long relationship between Edo and Delta States which was carved from the defunct Bendel State of the then Midwestern region, “there was a lot of collaboration between both States that would be of mutual benefit now that Governor Obaseki has been re-elected under the PDP umbrella”, Omimi said.
