Okowa, who has been onground in Edo State since the election took to his verified Facebook account to congratulate his colleague for a well-deserved victory in the just concluded governorship election.
Said he: “With their loud and irrefutable votes in #EdoDecides, the people of Edo State have sent a strong message that they choose to continue under Governor Godwin Obaseki’s development agenda to Make Edo Great Again! #EdoDecides.
“I congratulate my brother, Governor Obaseki, on this historic and thorough victory that has shown Edo State and the entire Nigeria that the will of the people always stands on the side of those that have their best interest. #EdoDecides.
Meanwhile, Okowa, has also expressed gratitude to his party for the steadfastness the party showed in the just concluded Edo governorship election.
“Let me also congratulate our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and all the members of the campaign Council for their hard work over the past few months that led to our victory in Edo State.
“The brotherhood displayed by all the PDP Governors and party members towards the re-election of Governor Obaseki is what Nigeria needs as we inch towards the 2023 General Elections.
“Moving forward, these election results should serve as a careful reminder that we can only achieve sustainable growth and development when the people are allowed to choose their leaders — at all levels and without any hindrances”, Okowa,. stressed.
