The assurance was given on Saturday 6th March 2021, by the Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, shortly after he casted his vote at Federal Ward 4, Unit 12 in Okerenkoko Community, Warri south west local government area of the state.
The Deputy Governor who exercise his franchise at about 12:04pm, described the process as peaceful, free, fair and credible, saying that he was very impressed with the turnout of voters.
Deacon Otuaro called on all Deltans to conduct themselves in an orderly manner, and come out enmass to vote for the candidate of their choice.
Otuaro said the basic challenge in the riverine area is transportation of electoral materials to the venue in time to let people exercise their franchise.
“They should be expecting credible conduct from the local government Council leadership. Times have been challenging but we do hope very strongly that things will pick up and the dividends of democracy will be experienced having gone through this process of electing chairmen and councilors.
“People should embrace the result as it comes out in the true spirit of sportsmanship. March 6th 2021 is the day set aside by the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission DSIEC, to conduct the local government elections across the state”, he added.
