Ahead of the governorship election in Delta State, former minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe, said, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, is the best governorship material to take the state to the next level.
Elder Orubebe, made the disclosure on Sunday March 3rd 2022, when Gbagi, the leading governorship aspirant, paid him a consultative visit at his Ogbobagbene, country home in Burutu local government area of the State.
“In all the local government areas in Delta State, you can site 2-3 industries with our natural resources”, saying that Gbagi could do it following his antecedents as a successful private entrepreneur.
“I have seen most of the aspirants. The only person that has been in the executive position that has performed is only Kenneth Gbagi, all the rest are either working for somebody, learning from somebody or running errands for people.
“It is only Kenneth Gbagi, who has succeeded as a private man in business and who did very well as a minister”.
Orubebe, who noted that it would be an aberration for a learner to succeed the incumbent governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, said it would take the state to years of backwardness, posing danger to generations unborn, “The danger is real”, he posited.
While extolling the sterling leadership qualities of Gbagi, which stands him out among other aspirants, Orubebe hinted: “My dear friend, Kenneth Gbagi, you are qualified. You have the character, capacity, commitment, passion to drive this state forward. You can do it.
“You did it as a federal minister, it has never happened in the history of this country, where 13 Universities, 16 Colleges of Education and 14 Polytechnic are created on same day. It has never happened in Nigeria, from 1960 till date”, he added.
