… As Gbagi Calls For Collaborative Effort To Change Delta’s Fortune
Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Udu Local Government Area (LGA), Chairman, David Siloko, has asserted that Delta State would be better for it if Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, becomes governor come 2023.
The LGA Chairman stated this on Tuesday February 15th 2022, when the leading governorship aspirant, paid a consultative visit to the LGA executives and party delegates.
Siloko, posited that it is better to work with a grassroot person than a man who is on top of his Carmel, noting that no one would be blind-folded as election has gone beyond such level.
Said he: ‘Elections have come to a level where no person will blind-fold you. I have told most of my persons that election is no longer the way it used to be in those days. Properties are shared based on closeness
“Now that is the turn of the Urhobos, anyone that is close to us, is the person that we are going to work with. If you bring your experience to the state, I think the state will be an El Dorado”.
He charged Gbagi, not to be threatened by the powers that be, saying that power belongs to God just as he assured him that they would remember him in their prayers.
“Ours is to pray because God gives power. You may be threatened by people and the power that be may say this is not the person but if God says you are the one, nobody can stop you”.
Also, the consultation team visited the Ughelli LGA executives, Ward chairmen and other delegates, where the chairman, Esenone Otoroba, assured him that the LGA executives would brainstorm going forward.
According to Otoroba, ‘The Spider produces its webs but when you kills it and opens it up, you will never see the robs with which the Spider uses in producing its web. That is what God has done. We have heard what you said” he said.
Earlier, the largest private investor in the state and most prominent gubernatorial hopeful hinted that charity begins at home.
“We must join hands to turn around our fortunes, I have what it takes to change Delta, with all my sojourn. If you do not fix your house before fixing outside, before you come your house would have been destroyed”, reiterating that he could transform Delta “better than we have it today”.
He called on the delegates to make and take the right decisions as aspirants come to present themselves to them.
“A number of things that I want to do in this State, I have gone to research on them and to know where we are”.
In Ughelli, Gbagi, said: ‘I will emaciate our youths, the middle age and our men and women, we will touch their lives positively for the growth and good of the state.
“If I have instrument of government to add to my ideas and connections, it will be a win-win situation. You people will see the instant benefits of it.
“If I do what I want to do in Ughelli north, after one year, it will not be the same again. Please, choose me if you know I can provide for what you want instead of choosing someone who cannot provide for your needs”, the former minister of Education added.
