Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Chairmen of Warri South West, Burutu and Warri South Local Government Area (LGA) executive and other delegates have queued behind Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi’s governorship bid come 2023.
The trio expressed confidence in the capacity of the industrialist to turn the fortune of the state around if elected governor.
The gave the assurance on 5th March 2022, when the leading governorship aspirant paid a consultative visit on them ahead of the governorship election.
Warri South West LGA Chairman, Izuokumor Favour, said: “You are a household name. You are pragmatic and an Industrialist. Thank you for accepting to run for governorship seat. We believe in you. We have no fear about what you can do.
“Come after the primary, we believe in you. After the primary, we will be united. Come 2023 PDP will win all the elective positions in Delta State and the presidency. We want to also affirm that anywhere Okowa go, we go.
His counterpart in Burutu LGA, Ebike Oromoni, said: “You are a good man. Even if you had not come and our leader say you are the person, we will give you block votes. All the rumour against you were fake. All were hearsay. We go for the best.
“We know all of the aspirants. We will not use because of money to throw away our destinies. Even if they say we should vote for a person and we don’t like the person, we will not vote for him. We will vote for the person that will give us industry and we need somebody like you.
Also, Warri South LGA Chairman, Mr. Johnson Agbeyigbe, hinted: “Personally, I believe that his kind of person will not bring us here and tell lies. Food that will satisfy a man, is weighed with the eyes.
“He is a man of character, he is not a new comer in the business of the party and politics. Go and win, we are behind you”, he declared.
Earlier in Warri South West, the frontline governorship hopeful, Olorogun Gbagi, called on them to use the 20 minutes or thereabout wisely to avoid handing over the state to thieves and ex-convicts.
“It is that same 20 minutes that I have come to beg you to use to send me to go and serve you for eight years. The experiment of PDP in Delta State has made it possible for the three zones to produce governor.
“I will work with you. No Godfather is controlling me. All the ones that wants to contest governorship with me, I will beat them 80 percent. I have no rival rather than to struggle to better the lots of all of us, Deltans.
“I have a duty to return back to society. We must take our youths from the street, we must give them gainful engagement. The vote shall be tagged emancipate Delta for greatness.
In Burutu LGA, the philanthropist, said: “This local government means a lot to me. At the proper time, we will take a decision. If you think you want to collect money so that you can break the arrangement, court will void it. Anybody who tells you that Gbagi will be quiet for a thief to come and govern Delta State, is a lie, I will not accept.
“Our Decisions which we make wrongly have a way of truncating our lifestyle. Some are thieves, some took contracts and EFCC, is looking for them. Among all your children, choose the best.
Meanwhile, a lady, Mrs. Toritseju Ojegbe, has called on Gbagi, to remember the women when if elected governor of the state, disclosing that after the governorship the women are forgotten.
“I know you will be there, nothing will stop you but when you enter, you people forget about us. Your Excellency sir, when you get there remember the women”.
