…Say He Will Deliver Victory For PDP
Following the purported declaration of the Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, on Thursday 14th April 2022, to join the governorship race in Delta state, residents of the state have drum support for the former minister of education, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, to contest for the number one coveted seat come 2023.
They described the philanthropist and industrialist as the most competent and qualified to deliver victory for the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), in the state.
The residents under the auspices of Robinson Plaza Deco road and PTI Junction in conjunction with other youth groups, marched across the streets of Oginibo, Ughelli south local government area of the state where vehicular and human movements were disrupted for several hours.
The residents in their hundreds chanted solidarity songs in support for Gbagi, before settling in front of the town hall where they pledged their total support for him come 2023.
Speaking during the rally, the leader of one of the Plazas, Comrade Dan Akintoye, commended the largest private industrialist for accepting to contest the 2023 governorship election, saying his competence and capabilities stood him out among the aspirants jostling for the state coveted number one seat.
Akintoye, who is the chairman of the DECO PLAZA, noted that Gbagi in the last 34 years had demonstrated uncommon industrial feat which made him acceptable to all Deltans across party divide.
According to him, the group and other citizens of the state would commence massive mobilization towards him winning ticket of the PDP, saying with him as the candidate, the party would not lose the governorship election.
He called on the leadership of the party under the chairmanship of Iyorchia Ayu and Barr. Kingsley Esiso at the national and state levels to consider picking the Gbagi, as the governorship candidate of the PDP by all options available to the party.
Akintoye, said: “Gbagi’s name is synonymous with trust, competence, capacity and industrialization. He is the one with the most capable credentials and disposition of taking Delta to the promised land, he has long nurtured himself adequately for the leadership role of governor.
“Gbagi is a marketable and sellable aspirant for the PDP and the party must not lose the 2023 governorship election to the APC.
“The race is not for boys but a person with capability. We have seen Gbagi’s industrialization plans and acceptability across the state. He is corruption free, crisis free and a reliable material that will deliver on his manifesto and the dividends of democracy”.
