A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Delta State chapter (name withheld), former minister of education cum leading governorship aspirant in the 2023 election, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, would clinch the ticket of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), during the primaries, if allowed.
The APC stalwart in a chat in Asaba, recently said he was confident that Olorogun Gbagi would emerge victorious in the PDP governorship primary slated for 25th May 2022, haven followed his antecedents over the years.
‘’From all the PDP aspirants, Gbagi, is most qualified and perfect for the job. My party, the APC is just waiting for the mistake the state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, will make. If the PDP picks a no less person, APC will take over the State but if the ticket is given to Gbagi, then the election has been won”.
He called on Deltans, particularly the ruling party and the delegates to recall Gbagi’s days as education minister how he aborted the policy of eight credits at one sitting, by spearheading the use of minimum of 6-credits in WAEC at two-sittings to be eligible for admission, creation of 13 Universities, eight Federal Government Colleges, 16 Colleges of Education and 14 Polytechnic coupled with the restructuring of the workings of agencies such as UBE, WAEC and NTI, among other innovations.
“We have a governor in Gbagi, only if the delegates will jettison frivolities and intimidations. Gbagi is ready and willing to develop the State and if possible surpass even what the current administration has done.
‘’Gbagi, is a grassroot politician, patriot and one with an uncanny love for the State. He knows the problem of the state and has the capacity to solve them.
“He will address security challenges in the state, reform education and improve the economy, infrastructure and the wellbeing of the people. He will translate the hopes and dreams of the people into reality and create for the state an environment of good order and civilization.
‘’Under him, Delta, will experience era of economic development and good governance. Gbagi will attract foreign direct investment into the state, spread the dividends of democracy to all nooks and crannies of Delta and generate employment for the people, particularly the youths with his youth empowerment strategy”, he said.
