… Affirms Governorship Rotation Along Senatorial Districts
Frontline governorship aspirant in Delta State, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, has gotten the support of a top-notch Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), chieftain, Barr. Val Arenyeka, ahead of the 2023 election.
The declaration to stand with the prominent gubernatorial hopeful, was the highpoint of a consultative visit on Barr. Arenyeka, who is the Deputy Chairman of the party in the state.
The PDP stalwart who revealed that he was among the founding member of the party in the State, disclosed that it was the Grassroots Democratic Movement (GMD), that metamorphosed into today’s PDP, the largest party in Africa.
The PDP Deputy Chairman, Arenyeka, who assured Gbagi, of his support, advised him to pay more attention on the party delegates, saying that every primary election has to do with delegates, describing them as “delicate delegates”.
According to him, he is aware of the rotational arrangement put in place, noting that “after Chief James Onanefe Ibori from Delta Central, it would go to other Senatorial Districts and it came to Delta South where Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan governed the state.
“And Sen. (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa from Delta North is the Governor of the state and he will conclusively complete the eight years by 2023 and then, it will come back to Delta Central”.
Meanwhile, Barr. Arenyeka who played host to the former Minister of Education, Olorogun Gbagi, at his
Ugbuagwangue residence in Warri, Warri south local government area together with political heavyweights described the entrepreneur, as his mentor.
Emiko Oghomienor- Ward Chairman, said: “I will fight, I will convince people to make sure the governorship position comes to Delta Central”.
Earlier, Olorogun Gbagi who led members of the Gbagi Solidarity Movement team to the consultative visit on his ambition to contest the 2023 governorship election, said that he came to remind his brother, that the PDP they started together since 1998, has remains his party.
He said that when Chief Ibori took the turn of Delta Central in 1999, he went underground waiting for his turn to come, revealing that 2023 is the time for him to be governor of the state.
The business mogul noted that as it stands, he is the oldest PDP member that is contesting the governorship position in the state, appealing to the Itsekiri Nation to support him to become governor by 2023, to enable him use his business and political prowess has had gathered over the years to change the narrative of the state.
Among those who received the criminologist, include Mr. Johnson Agbeyegbe- Warri south PDP LGA Chairman, Hon. (Dr.) Michael Tidi- Chairman, Warri south local government Council, Hon. (Dr.) Austin Uroye- Member Representing Warri south Constituency 1, Hon. Matthew Opuoru- Member Representing Warri south Constituency 2 in the Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA).
Others are Hon. Daniel Maduku- Executive Director of Project, DESOPADEC, Hon. Griftson Omatsuli- Commissioner Representing Itsekiri Ethnic Nationality in the Board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Ama Agbajo- former Warri south PDP local government area Chairman, Emmanuel Amiwero- Warri south PDP LGA Secretary, Madam Lizzy Erikowa- Warri South PDP LGA Woman Leader, Austin Izuagie- Ward Chairman.
