… Gbagi Is A Household Name — Bomadi LGA Chairman
… As Gbagi Seeks For Partnership
Leading governorship aspirant in Delta State, under the auspices of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, has described others in the race as “copycats” who are bereaved of ideas.
Gbagi, made the assertion on Monday February 14th 2022, while addressing Bomadi LGA PDP Executives, Ward chairmen and other party delegates during a consultative visit to Bomadi local government area of the state.
“As I started going out and meeting delegates like this, all the other aspirants will do the same now, they are copycats, anything I do, they follow and everywhere I go, they follow but search your conscience.
“Your governor epitomizes who you are. If you cannot be proud of your governor, then you are frustrated for four years or eight years as the case may be. This is the only time you can ask questions” stressing that God who made him a Deltan did not make any mistake.
“I believe my blessings, success and developmental stories will start from here”, just as he charged the Chairman to go into deep narrative discussions with his people, “Ijaw people believe that I am more an Ijaw person than Urhobo person”, detribalize Gbagi, said.
The former Minister of Education, warned that Bomadi PDP LGA should not lock the state into another imprisonment for eight years, “Some of us would have been too old and aged but your sensible decision to check and choose who is best for you and you can partner with for the next eight years should be uppermost in your minds and your children”.
While enlightening the gathering on the rotation plan, Gbagi said: “I patiently waited and I have waited for 16 years because when Delta Central finished their eight years, it went to Delta south, when they finished, it went to Delta North, they are finishing their seventh year now. So, they have about a year and four months to go.
“By that arrangement, Delta Central has waited for 16 years at the end of this government. So, it has become a 16 years wait period of incubation. It is not tribe/tribal governorship arrangement in Delta State, it is senatorial and by that arrangement by the grace of God, it has gone round and it is going to come back to Central. Anybody who comes to tell you that he can truncate or change it, will just be moving us to acrimony”, he warned.
He commended the incumbent governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, for the peace and development his administration has brought to the state.
In his response, the LGA Chairman, Prince Opuofeni, disclosed that Gbagi, is a household name, “in the politics of Delta and Nigeria, as a whole, Gbagi is a great man, he is a wonderful leader.
“Gbagi, is a household name, you have made your name and you have paid your dues”, he declared.
