DELTA 2023: Okowa’s Aides In Warpath Over Deputy Governor’s Slot

Ahead of the 2023 governorship election, two appointees of the Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, are currently in show of shame.

The duo, Finance Commissioner, Sir. Fidelis Tilije and the Chairman, Delta State Board of Internal Revenue (DBIR), Sir Monday Onyeme, are lobbying hard for Barr. Kingsley Burutu Otuaro’s seat, the incumbent Deputy Governor of the state.

The two Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), stalwarts from Ndokwa nationality, are not in talking terms, a source alleged.

It was learnt that political leaders in the party have waded into the crisis rocking the aides yet known is ready to blink first.

According to sources, if the crisis was nib on the bud, it may snowball into a bigger crises for the party ahead of the primaries and the election come 2023.

It would be recall that in a cabinet dissolution which affected former Chief of Staff, Government House, Olorogun David Edebvie, former Works Commissioner, Chief James Augoye, Okowa, said he took the decision to dissolve his cabinet to bring in some sanity to the system.
