The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has pulled a total votes of 590 in the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary election to clinch the party ticket ahead of the 2023 governorship race.
The gubernatorial primary which was conducted on Wednesday May 25th 2022, amidst tight security at the Stephen Keshi International Stadium Asaba, the State capital, has 14 aspirants who contested for the ticket.
Those who fought for the ticket include Olorogun David Edebvie, with 113 votes, James Manager pulled 83 votes, Mrakpor Peter scored 9 votes, the Deputy Governor of the State, Barr. Kingsley Burutu Otuaro got 8, Abel Esievo got two votes while Odebala Omizu Ejaife Odebala scored two votes.
Others are Branduze Angozi, two,
Onajefe Gift got three and Barr Fred Majemite got six, Chris Oyovwaye got Nile, Ike Arariboro, also have Nile and Lucky Oroye, who equally got Nile.
Head of the 7-manPanel, Mr. Ndubuisi Nwongo, who is the Returning Officer, said: ‘it is my wish that this exercise will go without rancor”.
Also, the State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) INEC, said: “We have round the other primaries, we are happy with what we saw. Today is the final of all the levels. We want to be calm as the others. I want to urge the aspirants to behave well, if you don’t win today, you will win tomorrow”.
The total number of accredited delegates from each local government area are, Aniocha south 34, Aniocha north 28, Ika northeast 43, Ika south 37, Ndokwa east 31, Ndokwa west 30, Oshimili north 31, Oshimili south 34 and Ukwuani 31
Others are Ethiope East 33, Ethiope West 33, Okpe 31, Sapele 34, Ughelli north 34, Udu 31, Ughelli South 33 and Uvwie 31 while, Bomadi 31, Burutu 32, Isoko north 40, Isoko south 34, Patani 30, Warri north 31, Warri South 37 and Warri South West 31 totaling 825 delegates.
Further breakdown shows that Delta North has 299; Delta South 266 and Delta Central 260.

One Aniocha North delegate, Mr. Dumebi Ohanwuzia was barred frm voting, as he was earlier accredited but his name was not ticked. This cost him his voting cos Agents refused 2 see reason
