Nigerians particularly Deltans are expressing mixed feelings following pictures of the Senator representing Delta South Senatorial District, in the National Assembly (NASS), Senator James Manager, kneeling down before Chief James Onanefe Ibori, former governor of  Delta state, during a consultative visit to him, ahead of the guber race come 2023.

The social media space went agog on Friday July 23rd 2021, when pictures of Senator Manager surfaced on various social media platforms.

On Facebook, a user with the name, Jackson Amede, tongue lashed Manager over alleged inability to attract dividends of democracy to his constituents.

Said he: “Manager that couldn’t manage a senatorial district well by bringing the dividends of democracy to them wants to manage three senatorial zones put together?”

Another user, Gpfa Assembly, said nothing was absolutely wrong for Manager to kneel down before the former governor.

According to him, “It’s not about seniority, it’s Ibori position of authority and there is nothing wrong for him to kneel, learn your lesson of humility here, be humble at what put food on your table.

While Francis Ezaga, alleged that Manager has failed Delta south Senatorial District in the senate,
“Failure before.. Failure even now..he failed in Senate”.

Also, Rufus Oberhonobe, said: “20 years in Senate nothing to show for it and Ogune Oke, said: “See the eye wey ibori take dey look James manager” .

Similarly, Paul Godspower Okpure, who took a swipe on the long serving Senator in the House for 18 years on said: “My guy never contribute one talk for de national house of Assembly since 2019 till date,, dat time wen we dey secondary School, who no dey talk, he mouth dey smell. Beside na new person wen want to occupy the seat. New Delta, new governor. Youth in particular”.

Stanley Otemewo, who spoke as someone from Delta Central noted: “It wont work, for it’s has not gotten to their turn”.

Another video circulating on WhatsApp platforms, by a user identified as MC Jollof, bemoaned the inability of the Senator to speak openly on Twitter Ban, 3% allotted to Host Communities by federal lawmakers on the Petroleum Industry Bill among others.

He said Manager, who is currently “61 years” should retire home and rest instead of coming to contest the 2023 governorship race when he would have been 63 years.

According to him, those with 2023 governorship ambition who troop to Ibori’s residence with the hope of winning the race should stop receiving themselves.
