DELTA 2023: Augoye Dumps Dream For House Of Assembly

One of the governorship aspirants for the Delta State gubernatorial race and former Commissioner for Works, Chief James Augoye, may have abandoned his aspiration for the coveted number one seat to run for the State House of Assembly for Okpe State Constituency, come 2023.

It was gathered that Chief Augoye, reached the decision to step down from the race on Sunday March 3rd 2022.

Although his reasons are still sketchy at press time, it was learnt that he would be gunning for the House of Assembly slot to represent Okpe in the next political dispensation.

It could not be ascertained whether he has purchased the Nomination and Expression of Interest forms for the lower seat, Augoye, has not also purchase the Governorship Nomination and Expression of Interest forms.

A Facebook user, Tisha Ejekansha Matthew, commented on a post by Fred Latimore, thus: “Withdrew his intentions for Guber and bought form for DTHA”.

But in another comment which looks like a response by one Comr Augoye Andrew, said: “PLEASE NOTE: Augoye is a member of the PDP Family and his brother in the family came visiting him does not make him “Sheriffied” as any other member of the family who desires to is welcomed. Please put the records straight. B guided”.

It would be recall that the former Works Commissioner, was among those the Deta Central 2023 (DC-23), a lobby group, screened out of the contest to pave way for the leading governorship aspirant, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, Sheriff Oborevwori and Olorogun David Edebvie.

Meanwhile, another aspirant, Eselante, has stepped down from the governorship race.
