Ahead of the 2023 governorship election, many aspirants have emerged in Delta Central Senatorial District of the state gunning for the number one seat.
Toping the list is Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, a former minister of education, an entrepreneur, a philanthropist, a criminologist and a security expert.
Also, Olorogun David Edevbie, the immediate sacked Chief of Staff, Chief James Augoye, immediate sacked Commissioner for Works, Senator James Manager, who is in the Senate for 18 years now with little or nothing to show.
Others are Braduce Angozi, Kingsley Otuaro, the incumbent Deputy Governor of the state who played politics with a dancing competition, an activity lineup to mark the just concluded Delta @30, Olorogun Kenneth Okpara and a lot of other names that are springing out.
In the midst of these mixed multitude who are vying for the coveted position, is a gentleman politician with charisma but accessible to both the youths and the old.
He has no bouncers who prevent his followers nor other admirers and people from seeing him. He has no protocol officers apart from few police officers on his escort. He moves freely without multitude of boys barricading people from accessing him
He is known to be the most wealthy of all the plethora of contestants but he lives a free and unassuming life. That means his hands must be clean from the pollutions which most Nigerian politicians stain their lives with.
He is one of all the aspirants who is a friend to the people in the background. He moves with them. He moves in the midst of the poorest of the poor without considering his social status or economic standing. Unlike some whose aides alienate them from the people whom they want to govern or represent in the parliament.
This man is no other than Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, the man from Oginibo in Ughelli south local government area of Delta state. Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi is one man whom I see to be very close to the people at the lowest wrung of the ladder.
He does not consider his wealth and personality. He does not consider himself as a former minister of the federal republic of Nigeria. He has taken photos with the poorest villagers and the street boys because feels he is one of them, as he feels their pains and recognises the need to extend a helping hand to them.
Olorogun Gbagi, has a good stand to govern the state with these beautiful qualities. There is need for Deltans to give him a chance to exhibit his talent for good governance, as he has manifested good vision for the state. He meant his words and will definitely match them with action.
