Foremost Ijaw national leader and former Information Minister, Chief Edwin Clark, has assured leading governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), in Delta State, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, of assuming office as governor of the state come 2023.
Pa Clark stated this Sunday June 12th 2022, when the National Chairman of SDP, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam, led the National Working Committee (NWC), governorship, senatorial and House of Representatives candidates to his Abuja residence.
In his prayers for Gbagi, asked that God grants the heart desire of Gbagi to become the governor of the State, saying “What is yours, nobody can take it from you except God.
“Now, my son wants to be governor.
He came to me that the governor wants me to take over from him, I said he will not allow you. You are too stronger for him. The governors of Nigeria, particularly PDP, they want to replace themselves.
“When the governor knows that you are very civilized, he won’t take you, they take those that they can control. Those who can keep money for them, do whatever they like.
“So, he has seen for himself. Now he has come to SDP. I know he is a fighter, he is going to win that seat for you”, he said.
Pa. Clark insisted that Gbagi remains the only one in the state with the character, resources to take over the state
