The above quote best portray the quagmire the Urhobos, the largest ethnic nationality in Delta State, finds themselves in the political space.
However, haven realize that they have progressed in error, the Urhobos are now ready to use the 2023 governorship election to correct the mistakes.
The 24 traditional rulers in Urhobo kingdom gathered at the Palace of His Royal Majesty (HRM), Ovie Richard Leyeguen, Ogbon, Ogoni-Oghoro 1, the Owhorode of Olomu kingdom in Ughelli south local government area of the state, where they unanimously endorsed, agreed and prayed for Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, to have a smooth sail in his aspiration to govern the State.
The prayers were offered by the oldest man and long serving king in Nigeria, in tandem with his colleagues who echoed amen to every pronouncement on Gbagi.
“We all agreed on this your governorship ambition. From now till 2023, all the movements you will make, you will not hit your foot against the stone. Wherever you go to in the length and breadth of the state and the Urhobo nation, may the your desires be granted. May the governorship also come to you in good health and peace”.
No wonder, even in the glaring eyes of Deltans who believed that Chief James Onanefe Ibori, do not support Olorogun Gbagi, but his political son, Olorogun David Edebvie, perhaps for reasons best known to him, to get his political grips and bounce back irresistibly by divine providence, queued for Gbagi’s gubernatorial ambition.
Ibori said: “I came back to the country and everywhere I go in the state, I hear Gbagi. I do not know anybody who can be governor in the state and turn situation around positively than yourself, Gbagi”, Ibori, hinted.
