DELTA 2023: Federal Lawmaker Debunks Joining Governorship Race

As the race towards the 2023 general elections especially the governorship gathers strength in Delta State, the member representing Isoko federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Mr. Leo Okuweh Ogor, said he has no interest to join the governorship race.

A release Friday 20th November 2020, by his Press Secretary, Akpodhoma Michael, said the write-up was the work of drunks who take solace in beer parlours.

According to the statement, the report and online posters with a caption, “Leo Ogor for 2023 governorship election”  apparently has its source in beer parlour gossips and should be disregarded as there is no iota of truth in it.

“We wish to unambiguously state that the lawmaker do not have 2023 governorship ambition.

“It is therefore sheer mischief for anyone to occupy the social media space with unauthorized, unofficial information and posters about the federal lawmaker future interest.

“We will like to stress that the former minority leader of the House of Representatives preoccupation is with advancing the agenda of the Ninth National Assembly to focus governance on the pursuit of the best interests for the good people of Isoko Federal Constituency and ensuring in delivering his promises to his constituents and the larger society.

“Ogor does not need such needless distractions as imputed by the false posters and reports under reference. He believes that it is premature for anybody to be talking about 2023 when all hands should be on deck against the myriad of challenges that faces our state and nation in this period.

“We advise the idle pseudo-social media writers and others involved to look for other engagements and stop bastardising the positive usefulness of Social media and freedom of information”, the release added.
