Ahead of the 2023 governorship election, the incumbent governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has said that the governor is not for incautious people.
Okowa, made the assertion on Thursday February 3rd 2022, in response to a request made by graduands of the Skills Training Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP) and Youth Agricultural Entrepreneurship Programme (YAGEP) during their graduation ceremony held at the Event Centre, Asaba.
The youths have pleaded with Okowa, to allow the programme outlive his administration as it has taken a lot of them out of the street.
Okowa, in his response, said: “The best governor is the governor that sits down to listen, a governor that is passion about the people and ready to listen and to give hope to his people.
“I believe that this programme will continue”.
Assuring the youths of the continuation of the programme when he bows out as governor of the state come 2023, he disclosed: “I must thanked the Delta State House of Assembly because the Delta State Wealth and Job Creation Bureau, has been legislated on and has been signed into law.
“And I am confident in myself that it is only somebody who is irresponsible that will come and will not want to toe this path but by the special grace of God will not have an irresponsible person in government”, Okowa, said.
