The commercial city of Warri and business hub of oil rich Delta State, was erupted at the presence of the most visible and leading Delta State governorship aspirant, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, as he stepped out of his Rolls-Royce, to inaugurate the newly constructed shops at his Robinson Plaza, along Deco Road Warri, axis of the state.
The event which was just to commission shops for businesses soon turned into a carnival with a mammoth crowd abandoning their business premises to catch a glimpse of the former minister of education and their GOVERNOR to be come 2023.
The entrepreneur, who is known for pulling crowd no matter how small the ceremony is planned, was greeted by a multitude of fans who thronged the venue of the commissioning.
In fact, history was indeed made on Thursday 19th 2021, as the philanthropist cum founder of Kenneth Gbagi Foundation, a project that has touched thousands of lives, became the talk of the town and its environs, as Olorogun Gbagi, added colour to event.
The massive support and solidarity he got from Delta youths didn’t come as a surprise following his dominance of the political space with his 2023 desire, as his loyalists which cut across party, tribe, religion divides trooped out in their hundreds and matched through the city of Warri with banners, bearing different inscriptions of hope for the criminologist ahead of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) party primary.
Olorogun Gbagi who simply came to commission the newly built shops, was overwhelmed with the support that greeted the occasion by multitudes of youths, men and women in warri including children to pledge their loyalty to the biggest and singular employer of labour with a heroic welcome.
During the ceremony Olorogun Gbagi, the number one investor in the state with chains of businesses so visible across the state proceeded to commission the newly built stores in the plaza that has over 600 shops.
The youths who could not hold back their emotions, seeing the massive investments owned by the guber aspirant, chatted solidarity songs to the security expert who turned a dump site to the largest shopping plaza in the state which has been described as one of the biggest in Nigeria, over 30 years ago due to his foresight, Insight and vision for entrepreneurship.
Mrs. Joan Emene, the first trader in the plaza, a Master degree holder who spoke on behalf of the traders testified of the good relationship between Olorogun Gbagi and the traders, disclosing that the governorship hopeful, always give assistance to them from time to time .
Chairman of the market, Comrade Daniel Akinteyo told newsmen that though campaigns have not started, noted that Olorogun Gbagi, is the only one that would be able to bring the dividends of democracy to Delta youths among those jostling for the number one seat.
“We are tired of fake promises, show to Deltans your score card”, Akinteyo, challenged other aspirants.
