The leadership of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Isoko South Local Government Area (LGA), has assured the leading governorship aspirant under the auspices of the party, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, of block votes.
Chairman of the LGA, Chief Odion Godspower Obaro, gave the assurance on Friday March 4th 2022, when the frontline gubernatorial hopeful, consultated party delegates at Oleh, Isoko south local government area of the state.
Chief Obaro, who eulogized the capacity of Olorogun Gbagi, disclosed that the lingering Uzere crisis came to an end after he (Gbagi) waded into it, stressing that Gbagi, would bring his wealth of knowledge to bear come 2023.
The LGA Chairman, Obaro, noted that the governorship election would not be discussed in Isoko south without mentioning the name of Gbagi, uging him to form a strong-tie relationship with the party leaders particularly the governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.
Said he: “We took our time to listen to you. We have known you for a long time. You have held many positions in this country and we also know that you can govern this State based on your experiences.
“We know you for settling cases when there are disputes, you will always involve yourself for peace to reign in all the communities and Delta State in general. Some years ago, he was one of the prominent leaders who committed himself financially to make sure that there is peace in Uzere.
“You have the capacity, ability and knowledge to govern this state. We pray God to be with you and assist you to succeed in the project. Any day that the issue of governorship will be discussed in Isoko south here, I know your name will be mentioned. You know the top, hold the top.
“Call on us anytime, we will be there for you. What we want in Isoko south is someone who will start from where Governor Okowa, will stop. In this your project, may God protect you and keep you and your entourage including your family.
Earlier, the industrialist, while addressing the delegates, insisted that the state has moved on peacefully for 24 years on the basis of senatorial rotation of the governorship seat.
He charged them not to allow anyone neither those who have served jail terms, those who cannot travel out of the shores of the country because of criminals evidences against them, to deceive them.
Gbagi, said: “Delta State and Nigeria, is planned on three senatorial districts. Nobody will come and tell me the history of PDP in Delta State and Nigeria. Let nobody come and tell you stories because by the time Okowa will be finishing as governor, Delta Central would have waited for 16 years.
“Anybody who gives you money to vote for him, such a person has given you money to buy your fathers and mothers graves. Do your research on all the candidates. Don’t allow politicians use you as sweet, use your sense.
Election in 2023, we will elect a new governor. Make no mistakes, I will takeover from Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, at the appropriate time, those who are thieves, ex-convicts, I will publish it. Delta south must produce governor when it comes to their turn.
“Those who finished jail terms in Sapele, you say you want to come and govern me. You must deny yourself something to get something. Unless we deliberately follow Okowa and take our youths out of the street, we will be causing more problems.
“We are going to bring business to your people. I will bring business to your local government, Isoko south”, Gbagi assured them.
