Senior pastor of Pasture of Life Christian Assembly Inc., Asaba, the capital of Delta State, Bishop Dr. Jude Akhere, has tasked the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, to establish the kingdom of God in government house after he is sworn-in as governor come 2023.

The renowned minister of the gospel, admonished the former minister of State for education Olorogun, Gbagi, not to forget God who has the power to make and dry the sea.

Bishop Akhere who said he has spent 40 years preaching the gospel, told the SDP gubernatorial candidate during a Thanksgiving Service organized by the Christian Organization for Good Governance, to be the agent of change God would use to raise the bar for the Church.

He explained that people easily forget how they started, where the rain met them and where the sun dried them, “You forget where the rain met you and you forget where the sun dried you”.

He charged the Church to speak with one voice and show enough commitment to the course of Olorogun Gbagi, the largest private industrialist whom he said his governorship campaigns is a movement to liberate the state and the body of Christ from the mess she has found herself.

He tasked the over 3, 000 worshippers who gathered to intercede for Gbagi’s ambition not to play double face game, rather the world should know them and see where their support base is.

“The days of double face life is over. If you belong, belong. If you don’t belong, stay out. The Church is where it is today because we don’t speak with one voice, we have a lot of traitors in the Church.

‘I want to plead with all of you, look at the crowd here today, if we all say we are carrying one man, tell me why that man will go down.

“But because we don’t speak with boldness and confidence because most of us don’t know who we are, we are looking for peanuts when we can have all. That is why we are where we are today.

“I challenge all of you, if you belong let the entire world know where you are. Let us all leave here and say this is our battle and we all must win it. If we leave with that state of mind, it is done”, he admonished.

Addressing the SDP gubernatorial candidate, the Reverend gentleman said: “Please, when you get there don’t ever forget that the God who made the sea can also dry the sea. What I have seen is that a lot of them, when they steps in, they forget where they are coming from. Make sure that the kingdom of God is established and you can do it on behalf of the Church.

‘I trust God and I have seen it and that is why I have said we will do our best to give you the support but don’t ever forget, most of us here we have seen and we are surprised at the shallowness of men’s minds, they forget easily.

‘That has been our experience and we don’t want to have that experience again and we know we will not have it with you and we want to plead with you that let us all speak with one voice.

“The church gave Okowa, 80 percent of the votes that he got today, that is why I have spoken to them that we all speak with one voice. By the grace of God, we will move in together.

“We appreciate you and we honour. This is a movement and by the grace of God, we will get there but sir, don’t forget that the God who made the sea can also dry the sea”, he added.
