Voters in Ughelli North,Ward 11 have been left hopeless as they were not allowed to carry out their votes effectively.
A witness who spoke to Emerald News revealed that different top party agents were trying to bribe some of Peter Obi’s supporters with cash to vote for their party but they stayed on the decision of a better Nigeria, rejected the money and insisted on voting their conscience.
When asked about the supposed security officials assigned to the unit, he said they left before the incident took place.
However, things took a dramatic turn when hoodlums attacked and drove the voters away with matchets,woods and bottles.
”They scattered the ballot boxes, threw the papers away because they saw that a lot of persons were voting for Peter Obi”
Another source said prior to the incident, fights had engulfed three times earlier.
Emerald News learnt that soldiers mounted the place after the incident had occurred, as at 5:22pm when this report was filed, the voters in the unit were yet to vote and the previous votes gotten were null and void.
