Ahead of the governorship contest in Delta State, the incoming Governor under the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi OON, has accused the incumbent governor, Ifeanyi Okowa of wanting to perpetuate himself in office beyond his administration.

He said Okowa, was pushing for Sheriff Oborevwori, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, who a section of Deltans described as a puppet who he (Okowa), is imposing on Deltans in the 2023 election.

Gbagi made the statement on Monday December 19th 2022, when the LGA Governorship Campaign trail stormed Udu local government area of the state.

The SDP incoming gubernatorial standard-bearer in the 2023 election, insisted that the Okowa’s administration, “has received over N3 trillion including those that they are now revealing” with another N378 billion already borrowed.

He insisted that Deltans must reject the Peoples’ Democratic Party in all the elections next year.

“I fought my life as Kenneth Gbagi Foundation to put Okowa, in office because it was a turn by turn as we have divided it.

“I believed that Okowa, will do the best, then. I am sorry that for seven years, Okowa, was leading me and begging me that Gbagi, I am going to handover to you. You are the only one that can do this job.

“I didn’t know that it was a political deceit. At that level, what are we looking for? But that is now history”, he said.
