It was a season of love and compassion as the June Vision Foundation, through its Widows for Christ initiative, empowered widows drawn from Issele-Uku, Issele-Mkpitime, and Onicha-Ugbo during its 9th annual Christmas outreach.

The empowerment programme, held on December 24, 2025, at the Issele-Uku Royal Palace in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, marked the ninth consecutive edition of the initiative since its inception.

His Royal Majesty, Agbogidi Obi Nduka JP (MNSE), the Obi of Issele-Uku Kingdom, commended the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the June Vision Foundation, Evangelist June Eunice Ify Odika, for her resilience, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of widows over the past nine years.

The monarch, who expressed optimism for a more elaborate 10th anniversary celebration, prayed for renewed strength and divine grace for Evangelist Odika to continue fulfilling her God-given mandate.

He noted that the Foundation has consistently brought comfort and relief to widows who otherwise would not have been able to celebrate Christmas, urging the beneficiaries to remain steadfast in faith and hope in God, whom he described as their ultimate provider and protector.

Obi Nduka further called on well-meaning individuals and organisations to partner with the Foundation to expand its reach and ensure that more vulnerable persons across the local government area benefit from similar interventions.

In her remarks, Evangelist June Eunice Ify Odika reflected briefly on the journey so far and unveiled the next phase of the Foundation’s growth.

She disclosed that the Foundation had acquired land at Ogbeowele village in Issele-Uku, where construction of a medical centre and a multi-purpose hall is already underway to better cater to widows and other vulnerable persons within Aniocha North and beyond.

She explained that despite personal challenges, including the loss of her younger brother, the 2025 edition of the empowerment was held against all odds, attributing its success to God’s sufficient grace and favour.

She expressed deep appreciation to His Royal Majesty for his consistent support since the inception of the programme, as well as to partners and supporters who have sustained the initiative over the years.

Earlier in the programme, a devotional session was led by Pastor Sunday Ikelede, who also ministered the Word of God to the widows and other attendees.

This was followed by a session of intercessory prayers led by Pastor Emmanuel Ebegbuzie, who prayed for Issele-Uku land, the traditional ruler, and the people, asking for divine intervention and accelerated development in the community.

The highlight of the event was the distribution of rice and wrappers to the widows, who expressed overwhelming joy through songs and dances, while offering prayers for the continued growth and success of the June Vision Foundation.
