UNILAG Alumni Asaba Chapter Pays Courtesy Visit To Asagba Of Asaba
The Asaba Chapter of the University of Lagos Alumni Association has paid a historic courtesy visit to the Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty, Professor Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge (CFR), at his palace in Asaba, Delta State.
Leading the delegation was the Chapter President, Mr. Patrick Olisa Dibie, accompanied by eminent alumni including Barr. Michael Nwamu, Elder C. Ngemegwai, Rt. Hon. Ovie Agas, Obi Henry Kikachukwu, Prof. Benjamin Oghojafor, Dr. Derick Eke, Barr. Bridget Anyafulu, Barr. Princess Ajudua, and Barr. Emmanuel Diei.
The team was formally received and guided by the Palace Secretary, High Chief Patrick Ndili.
The visit, marked by formal introductions and traditional royal greetings in line with Asaba customs and palace protocols, was filled with warmth and camaraderie as the Asagba welcomed his fellow Akokites with joy.
In his remarks, the Chapter President, Mr. Dibie, expressed regret over the delayed courtesy call while acknowledging the outstanding contributions of the Asagba to the legal profession, the Church, the Commonwealth, and education.
He appealed to the Royal Father to extend similar goodwill and mentorship to the Asaba Chapter of the association.
On behalf of the delegation, Rt. Hon. Ovie Agas presented symbolic gifts and formally delivered an invitation to the Asagba to receive a National Award from the University of Lagos Alumni Association on October 12, 2025, in Lagos.
Responding, the Asagba of Asaba expressed deep appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the University of Lagos Alumni Association.
He encouraged members to remain united and work for the overall good of society. His Majesty offered royal blessings, sealing the event with goodwill and prayers.
The visit concluded with a group photograph, capturing a memorable moment of fellowship between the revered monarch and distinguished members of the association.
