Barely 24 hours after a vigilante group lost one of its members in Okprowo Community, a leader of another local vigilante group and his younger brother in the same area have been murdered in Ogbakiri community, Emohua local government area of Rivers State.
The vigilante leader identified as Ike, also known as Sanni, and his younger brother were allegedly killed by aggrieved vigilante members in his community.
A source from the community said the killing of Sanni and his younger brother was in connection “with a disagreement with his members” which has been ongoing for a while.
It was gathered that a new person has assumed office as the new leader of the local vigilante in the community.
The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the killing in Okprowo community.
The spokesman of the command, Nnamdi Omoni, who confirmed the incident said, “investigation into the incident has commenced”, assuring that the pepertrators will be arrested.
