The suspects were arraigned before the Magistrate Court, Idemili north local government area of Anambra State on 11th March 2021, for prosecution after investigation was concluded.
Following the report of rape, police detectives trailed and arrested the suspects namely Chidiebere Uzoma, 45 years of Ukaegbu Street and Uchenna Nwegbu, 23years of Osumowo street, both of Awada respectively.
According to the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Haruna Mohammed, “The victim was taken to the hospital for medical examination where penetration and multiple lacerations of her hymen was confirmed.
The image maker disclosed that the victim is presently receiving treatment, stressing that on interrogation, the suspects voluntarily confessed to the alleged crime.
It would be recall that on 19th February 2021, a 16 years old girl was brutally gang raped by two men at Osumowo street Awada in Idemili north local government area of Anambra State, leaving her unconscious due to excessive loss of blood.
The case was adjourned to Tuesday 16th March 2021.
