The Presidential Election Petition Court on Friday reserved judgment in the petition of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), challenging the conduct of the February 25 elections wherein Bola Tinubu emerged as the elected president.
The judgement has been reserved to be delivered alongside the judgements regarding Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar’s petitions seeking the nullification of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Recall that following the outcome of the February 25th election that saw Bola Tinubu emerge as the winner, the Labour Party and People’s Democratic Party vowed to challenge the election process in court.
The petitions filed by the two candidates ( Atiku and Obi) had passed through the hearing and pre-hearing stage at the Tribunal and is awaiting final judgement.
It should also be recalled that APM is in its petition seeking the disqualification of President Tinubu and his Vice on grounds that Kashim Shettima had double nomination as a senatorial and vice presidential candidate before the February 25th presidential election.
However, in a recent development, Justice Haruna Simon Tsammani announced that judgement on the APM petition would be delivered on the same day as that of the petitions filed by Obi and Atiku.
