Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress’ (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has won the presidential election in Ekiti State by a landslide.
In the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Tinubu has won 13 of the 16 Local Governments announced so far by a landslide.
Tinubu polled 148,975 votes to defeat Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 62,710 votes while Peter Obi of the Labour Party, got 6,097 votes.
Three Local Governments are remaining to be announced the INEC’s Collation officer.
Premium Times reports that Ekiti is currently governed by the APC through Governor Biodun Oyebanji. Mr Oyebanji’s predecessor, Kayode Fayemi, is also of the APC and a key supporter of Mr Tinubu.
Also, former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose is working against the PDP’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
