Nigerian soldiers have intercepted a truck loaded with arms and ammunition along Birnin Gwari in Kaduna State.
The soldiers arrested the driver and five others in the process.
It was learnt that the truck driver on sighting the soldiers pretended that the vehicle developed a fault while the security operatives patrol vehicle passed.
It was gathered that as soon as the patrol vehicle passed, the driver turned into a bush but was ambushed by the patrol team, who apprehended him and recovered the weapons that were inside the truck.
It further learnt that the gallant troops recovered 6000 rounds of armor, 34 AK-47 rifles, 3 Anti-aircraft guns, and 6 suicide vests.
Upon interrogation, the driver confessed that he was given N200, 000 to deliver the weapons, disclosing that the suspects were driving behind him before he was nabbed.
After an hour, the suspects, numbering five, driving a 2004 Toyota Highlander car, were ambushed by the soldiers, and eventually arrested.
All suspects have been arrested and moved to a Military facility in Kaduna for discrete investigation.
