Suspected armed thugs in their numbers have been arrested by soldiers along the Ita Awure-Efon Junction in Ekiti State.
It was gathered that the suspected armed bandits were on their way to Ekiti from Ibadan, Oyo State on a dangerous assignment when the soldiers swoop on them.
Nemesis caught up with them at about 3:00am on Wednesday January 26th 2022, as it was learnt that they were allegedly hired to cause mayhem in the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) primary election ahead of the 2022 election in the state.
Armed to the teeth, the suspects were on transit onboard several vehicles and buses to stop PDP from producing a governorship candidate.
It was learnt that the soldiers are currently holding them.
One of the thugs Identity Card, with the Kehinde Yusuf, is the Secretary, Park Management Staff, Oyo State.
A post on Facebook by one Lere Olayinka, reads: “These are the thugs coming to Ekiti, with the arms and charms they were caught with at about 3am today.
“They were bursted by vigilant soldiers at Ita Awure/Efon Junction”.
At the time of this report, the soldiers are moving the about 150 armed thugs arrested at Ita Awure/Efon Junction to Army Barrack in Akure, Ondo State.
