A former governorship candidate under the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), in the 2011 general election in Ogun State, General Tunji Olurin (rtd.), is dead.
Olurin, was also the former Military Administrator of Oyo and Ekiti States.
According to Funso Olurin, the deceased’s brother, Olurin died at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) in the early hours of Saturday 21st 2021.
According to him, Olurin died after a brief illness.
Olurin was the military administrator of Ekiti State between October 8, 2006, and April 27, 2007.
He hailed from Ilaro in Ogun West Senatorial district of Ogun state.
The deceased was a Field Commander of the ECOMOG Peacekeeping Force in Liberia from 1992 to 1993 during the First Liberian Civil War.
He retired from service in 1993.
