No fewer than 17 passengers have been purportedly whisked from a commercial bus along Ewreni expressway in Ughelli north local government area of Delta state.
Trouble started on Saturday’s night when the commercial bus conveying about 17 passengers was attacked by unknown gunmen in Ewreni expressway.
A chief in the community confirmed the incident, adding that the abductors could be communal militas youths in the area.
He added that no contact has been made by the abductors since yesterday night.
When contacted, the Delta State PPRO, DSP Bright Edafe said he is not aware about the incident.
“I am not aware. I don’t know how 17 persons will be kidnapped and the police will not be aware. The DPO has patrolled the entire area, nothing of such”, I am not aware, he reiterated.
