The worst is yet to be heard of the Enugu State governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, who at present day Nigeria, allegedly subject citizens to hardship due to bad roads and bridges.
A post on Facebook by the Publisher, Nigeria Radar Magazine, Comrade Tony Chuks Okwunebe, lambasted the governor over the bad condition of a road and a bridge leading to Mburubu kingdom, Nkanu east local government area of the state.
See details below:
These are bridges in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State leading to the residents of ex- and serving politicians in the state.
These bridges are outdated and not in use in Nigeria anymore.
But I’m surprised that my journey to Mburubu kingdom in Nkanu East Local Government Area revealed the existence of these bridges in modern Nigeria.
The roads leading to Mburubu kingdom speaks volume and shows complete lack of Government presence and attention to the area.
I am not surprised at what my colleague posted earlier about the Government of Enugu State on social media where he accused the Government of complete neglect of Mburubu kingdom.
Enugu State Government should as a matter of urgency go and reconstruct these bridges and tarr the roads to alleviate the sufferings of the people of Mburubu kingdom.
The people spend as high as N1500 to travel from Mburubu to Enugu town for a journey of a travel time of say an hour drive.
This is not right, this is injustice to the people who voted this Government into power.
I therefore call on His Excellency Rt. Hon Dr Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to direct the Ministry of Works to take responsibility for the rehabilitation of Mburubu kingdom.
