The Chairman of the Taraba State Staff Payroll Verification Committee, Haruna Abubakar Abdulkadir, has admitted to errors in the report earlier submitted to the State Government.

Speaking to journalists at Government House, Jalingo, Abdulkadir clarified that no serving or retired High Court judge was listed among staff reportedly not paid, contrary to the initial content of the committee’s report.

He expressed regret over the mix-up, noting that High Court judges were mistakenly associated with a list of individuals who claimed they had outstanding payments.

The confusion, he said, was inadvertent and not reflective of the true situation.

Abdulkadir stressed that judges are not receiving double salaries, explaining that their only entitlement from the state is a rent allowance.

He apologised to the judges and the government for the misunderstanding and any inconvenience caused.

The chairman added that the committee is finalising its verified findings, which will be formally submitted to the Governor soon.
