Students Protest Allege Closure Of School In Imo

Students of Rochas College Orji Owerri, Imo state have taken to the streets in protest against an alleged closure of their school by the I’m State government.

The students who took to the streets in the state capital with placards with various, inscriptions: “Do Not Close Our School”, “We Are Imo Children”, Do Not Kill Papa Rochas” among others.

This is coming on the heels of the brewing political rift between the current Imo State governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma and his predecessor, Senator Anayo Rochas Okorocha.

The show of supremacy took a dangerous dimension when the former in his quest to challenge the incumbent which purportedly sealed some of his choice properties allegedly built with state funds and purportedly converted to personal use.

It was gathered that Okorocha allegedly went with his staff to unseal and possession of the sealed property when fracas ensued, leading to free for all.

According to reports, the immediate past governor was arrested by security operatives alongside others that were allegedly injured in the fued.

It was learnt that Okorocha has been released through the intervention of Senate President just as It was equally reported that the embarrassed former governor Rochas Okorocha have returned to Abuja through the Owerri airport.

It was gathered that others arrested have been arraigned in Court and were granted bails.

It would be recall that during the reign of Okorocha as governor of the state, Hope Uzodinma was the  Senator, representing Imo West Senatorial Zone.

Presently, Uzodinma, is the governor of the state, Anayo Rochas Okorocha is the present Senator Representing Imo West Senatorial zone.
