Stella Okotete Electrifies APC Stakeholders’ Meeting, Declares Delta Women “Unbreakable Force” Behind Tinubu, Oborevwori’s 2027 Victory
In what has been described as one of the most compelling addresses ever delivered by a female political leader in Delta State’s history, Hon. Stella Erhuvwu Okotete, Executive Director, Business Development at the Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM Bank) cum a leading voice in Nigeria’s progressive movement, set the All Progressives Congress (APC) Stakeholders’ Meeting in Asaba aglow with her eloquence, passion, and strategic vision for women’s political advancement.
Speaking before a packed hall at the Government House, Asaba, on Sunday, October 12, 2025, Okotete, the trailblazing politician, member, Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Transition) Inauguration Committee, and National Woman Leader of the APC, delivered a stirring message that celebrated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s inclusive governance while reaffirming women’s readiness to drive the 2027 electoral victories for the party from the grassroots upward.
“Your Excellency Sir, we want to appreciate you for your wisdom in bringing us together under one roof to chart the course of growth, progress, and development of our dear state,” she began, her voice resonating with conviction and charisma.
Okotete emphasized that women’s participation in governance is no longer optional but indispensable to sustainable democracy.
“We are excited to be here as women, but it is important that more of us are given roles to sit in rooms like this. Women don’t just add colour to the room, we bring substance to the table,” she declared to loud applause.
Citing data that shows women account for more than 51 percent of Nigeria’s voting population, she noted that they remain the backbone of grassroots mobilization and political stability.
“We are the ones who go door-to-door to bring out the votes,” she added with conviction.
The Delta-born political amazon, known nationwide for her audacious leadership and bridge-building across party and gender lines, commended Governor Oborevwori for his people-oriented policies under the M.O.R.E Agenda, noting that over 250,000 women in Delta State have directly benefitted from his administration’s empowerment programmes.
“You are not just the Governor of Delta State; you are our father, our husband, our brother, and if you permit us, our lover,” Okotete quipped humorously, drawing smiles across the hall.
“You have set yourself apart as one who understands the importance of women in governance.”
Revealing the coordinated political awakening among women across the three senatorial districts of the state, Delta North, Delta Central, and Delta South, Okotete announced that the APC women’s structure had united as a “formidable and unbreakable force” to deliver the governor, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
“Delta women have organized ourselves perfectly and exceptionally well.
“In November, we will converge in Asaba to send a loud statement, we are starting your campaign before campaigns officially begin,” she revealed, her words met with chants of solidarity.
Reiterating their loyalty to the progressive cause, Okotete assured that women would mobilize massively to ensure a clean sweep for the APC across all elective positions in 2027.
“We will not just add our voices; we will add our votes. And we know you will reciprocate by giving women more seats, in the House of Assembly, the House of Representatives, and, by God’s grace, even as Deputy Governors or Governors in other Senatorial Districts.”
The event, which brought together party stalwarts, women leaders, and stakeholders from across Delta State, was hailed as a defining moment in the build-up to 2027, one that spotlighted the rising influence of women in Nigeria’s political equation and reaffirmed Stella Okotete’s place as one of the most influential female political figures of her generation.
With her trademark blend of elegance, intellect, and fearless advocacy, Stella Okotete once again reminded the nation why she remains a force, not just in the APC, but in Nigeria’s evolving story of women-driven democracy.
