Two personnel of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and two private guards attached to the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, have allegedly burgled and set on fire after stealing the sum of N3.5 million.
Also, the Speaker’s Cook, was fingered in the allegation of breaking and entering in the residence of the Speaker in Inbadan.
Part of the Speaker’s Lodge at Agodi area of Ibadan was said to have been destroyed by the fire but the building was salvaged.
It was gathered that the incident happened about two weeks ago when the Speaker, Adebo Ogundoyin was out of the country.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested the two NSCDC operatives, the two private guards and the cook for allegedly stealing from the residence of the Speaker, Adebo Ogundoyin and setting the building on fire.
The suspects were said to have been released on bail after the police had recovered N500,000 from them out of alleged N3.5 million stolen.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Oyo State Command, Adewale Osifeso, could not be reached on the telephone and he has yet to reply to the message sent to him.
However, the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC, Oluwole Olusegun who confirmed the incident when said, “They were arrested and have been released”.
