In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Nkem Nwaeke, the Speaker reaffirmed the Assembly’s continuous support for policies and programmes that promote the welfare, safety, and prosperity of all Deltans.
He emphasized that the Security Trust Fund, established through legislation enacted by the State Assembly, was designed to mobilize additional resources to complement government’s efforts in maintaining peace and security.
Rt. Hon. “This development marks a major milestone in our collective efforts to safeguard lives, property, and economic investments across Delta State. As representatives of the people, we recognize that security is the foundation of sustainable development.
“The Fund will provide critical support to our security agencies, enabling them to respond swiftly and effectively to emerging threats.”
He further urged all stakeholders to view security as a shared responsibility, calling for collective commitment to sustaining the initiative.
“Security is everyone’s business. I encourage all stakeholders to partner with the government in ensuring the success of this Fund. Together, we can make Delta a model of peace, safety, and prosperity,” the Speaker concluded
