Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has applauded Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his decisive action in prioritizing the reconstruction of the Warri–Sapele–Benin Dual Carriageway — a project he described as vital to Delta State’s economic and infrastructural transformation.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Nkem Nwaeke, following Tuesday’s groundbreaking ceremony, the Speaker said the road project represents a major step toward improving commerce, transportation, and security across the state.
Rt. Hon. Guwor noted that the deplorable condition of the highway had long posed severe hardship to motorists and residents. He commended Governor Oborevwori for not only initiating the reconstruction but also fostering collaboration with the Federal Government to accelerate development across Delta.
He also highlighted the significance of other ongoing infrastructure projects within the Warri and Effurun axis, particularly the flyovers under construction, describing them as tangible evidence of the Governor’s commitment to reshaping Delta’s infrastructure landscape.
The Speaker urged the contractors handling the Warri–Sapele–Benin Road and other strategic projects to maintain the highest standards of quality and professionalism while ensuring timely completion.
Rt. Hon. Guwor, who also serves as the National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, emphasized that every infrastructural project undertaken by the state government contributes to economic growth, social stability, and improved living standards for Deltans.
He reaffirmed the readiness of the State Assembly under his leadership to continue providing legislative backing and effective oversight to guarantee the successful delivery of all ongoing projects.
The Speaker further assured that the legislature would sustain its partnership with the executive to advance the developmental vision of the Oborevwori administration, urging Deltans to remain focused and supportive of the “Renewed Hope for MORE” agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
