In a major milestone for the Niger Delta region, Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, on Friday joined Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and other political leaders for the official commissioning of the new Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Delta State Office in Warri.
The ceremony drew federal and state lawmakers, top government officials, traditional rulers, and key stakeholders committed to advancing development across the region.
It marked a renewed focus on institutional efficiency and infrastructural transformation in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Speaking after the event, Senator Nwoko described the newly completed facility as more than just a building, calling it “a powerful symbol of the Federal Government’s commitment to transparency, service delivery, and sustainable development in the Niger Delta.”
“This milestone reflects a renewed commitment to efficient service delivery, transparency, and people-centered governance in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” Nwoko stated.
“The new NDDC State Office is not merely a physical structure; it represents a stronger and more responsive institution dedicated to driving sustainable development and improving the lives of our people.”
Known for his strong advocacy for institutional accountability and regional empowerment, Senator Nwoko emphasized that the commissioning signaled a new era for the NDDC.
He pledged continued support for initiatives that align with the Federal Government’s development vision.
“As the Senator representing Delta North, I remain firmly committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen institutions, empower communities, and ensure that development agencies like the NDDC deliver lasting impact for our people,” he added.
The new NDDC Delta State Office is expected to serve as a strategic hub for project planning, implementation, and oversight across the state.
Officials say it will enhance coordination with local stakeholders, minimize bureaucratic bottlenecks, and improve responsiveness to community needs.
The project forms part of a broader reform agenda being implemented under the supervision of the Ministry of Regional Development, designed to enhance institutional performance and rebuild public confidence in the NDDC’s mandate.
